A Director of Better Places Ltd. and Chartered Town Planner, has 28 years of experience in regeneration, strategic planning and large site development. Most recently as the Director of Box 22 Ltd and before that the Director of Regeneration at Shepway District Council Andy also had responsibility for economic development, asset management, engineering, arts and culture and transport. He led partnerships and implemented programmes that substantially improved Folkestone creating thousands of new jobs, redeveloping its Town Centre and regenerating the Coastal Park (overall regional RTPI award winner 2007).
Following 10 years as an Architect in private practice designing domestic and commercial buildings Geoff joined local government as an historic buildings and architectural design adviser to planning officers. For his last years in local government he was responsible for a design team carrying out major environmental improvement schemes. Now after 30 years he has retired and is busier than ever as an historic buildings, Architectural design and masterplanning consultant. Geoff is presently working for Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council for two days each week giving him scope to assist Better Places during the remainder of his week.
Has worked in local government for 30 years. An expert in planning policy Valerie has prepared and reviewed many local plans from start to finish Valerie is presently employed by Eastbourne Borough Council as the Planning Policy Manager in a job share arrangement which enables her to support Better Places on a part time basis.
A Chartered Town Planner. Chris has gained over 15 years experience in planning, regeneration and development control in both public and private sectors. He has an established detailed knowledge of the planning system in Kent having previously worked for Shepway, Rochester-upon-Medway and Gillingham Councils. Chris is a Director of Box 22 Ltd. based in Northumberland but works closely with Better Places on a number of key projects.
